Summary
Prof. Ng Yat-nam, Petrus received a Diploma of Social Work (Honours) and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Hong Kong Baptist University, a Master of Social Service Planning and a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Essex in the United Kingdom, MSc and PhD in Clinical Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology (Hong Kong Courses). Professor Ng majored in social work and psychiatric rehabilitation. He worked as a social worker (psychiatric rehabilitation) and has rich experience in psychological counseling and psychiatric rehabilitation social work. In 2006, he was qualified in cognitive therapy from the American College of Cognitive Therapy. He also obtained the EMDR training qualification in 2014. Professor Ng was the President of the Hong Kong Professional Counseling Association. Professor Ng’s counseling specialties include mental rehabilitation social work, personal and family counseling, crisis and post-traumatic stress management, anxiety and depression treatment, etc. Academic research and papers are published in various international academic journals.
