Summary
We all carry within us places of exile, our crimes, our ravages. Our task is not to unleash them on the world; it is to transform them in ourselves and others. ― Albert Camus, The Rebel
Unexpected illness, marriage in jeopardy, job loss, bereavement, estranged children, disillusioned life after retirement……, how can we handle all sorts of upsets and challenges and turn them into driving fuel to power our life forward?
I graduated in Baptist University in 2019 with a MSc in Counselling and a Certificate in Personality Dimensions® Facilitator (Level I) and am honored to be a member of The Hong Kong Professional Counselling Association (Member No.: M2037). Currently, I am an Assistant Lecturer in the tertiary education sector delivering Whole Person Development modules to young adults.
Looking back to my past work experience these twenty years, I am delighted that I have been in many different jobs and positions, for example, tour guide, salesman, project officer, teacher, Legco members’ assistant…… which enable me to meet people from all walks of life and understand that each individual is unique including his/her own background and challenges in life.
The counselling cases I have been taking care of include trauma after amputation, bereavement, stigma resulted from disability, feeling helplessness and confused in one’s career, family quarrels, autism, hyperactivity disorder and depression. I have been approaching each with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in order to guide my clients to stay away from negative thoughts and unwind themselves so they will be ready to further explore wonders and possibilities that come in their way.
